Old olive trees glowing in warm evening light
Parga · Greece · a small family taverna

Dinner begins
in the shade.

Old olive trees above us. A bottle of house oil on every table. Plates in the middle. Bread until there is no bread left.

Olive oil isn't a garnish here.
It is part of the story.

Our food starts where many Greek meals start: with good oil. On warm bread, over tomatoes, through beans, across grilled vegetables and, sometimes, simply on a plate with salt.

today at Stin Elia

Three plates.
One table.

We cook simply and serve generously. Order a few plates, put everything in the middle and let the table decide what happens next.

Bread, olives & house oil

Warm bread, village olives, sea salt and enough oil to require another basket.

The village table

Tomato, feta, tzatziki, local cheese, small fried bites and whatever came from the kitchen first.

Selection of traditional Greek meze dishes
from the kitchen

Meze, one after another

Dips, dolmadakia, saganaki and seasonal small plates made for forks wandering across the table.

We don't rush the olives.
We don't rush dinner either.

a little place with a long memory

Nothing fancy.
Everything cared for.

Stin Elia began with a few tables, a family kitchen and the shade of an old olive tree. We kept all three.

There are no tasting menus here. There is food that belongs on a Greek table: vegetables that saw the sun, fish when it is good, herbs from nearby and olive oil that appears on almost everything.

A few useful things.

Simple answers so you can spend less time planning and more time eating.

Do we need a reservation?

Walk-ins are welcome, but we recommend reserving for dinner and weekends, especially for tables under the trees.

Do you have vegetarian or vegan dishes?

Yes. Greek cooking gives us plenty to work with. Ask us what is vegan that day and we will happily point you in the right direction.

Can you help with allergies?

Please tell us before ordering. We can explain ingredients and advise which dishes may be suitable, though our kitchen handles common allergens.

Is the taverna family-friendly?

Very. Children, shared plates and slightly longer dinners are all part of the atmosphere.

Can I see the full menu before visiting?

Yes. Use the PDF menu above. Daily specials may only appear on the kitchen board.
